If I had a million dollars....

I have been researching nursery websites and blogs online to get some creative ideas lately. There are so many themes, details, and pieces you can combine to create an amazing ensemble. I ran across some beautiful 'fantasy' nurseries of millionaires and celebrities that I would love to have if money was no object. It is fun to look... Here are some that I loved!

This is darling for twins... I love the blue silver combo, and the cribs are fabulous!

I love the ceiling fabrics and wall color in this one... so classy and elegant.

This is Brooke Burke's baby girl's nursery. I am thinking of having similar curtains made, so soft and elegant.

This is Christina Augilera's son Max's nursery... very unique!

Reflections...

Since it's the holidays and the end of another year, I always like to take some time to reflect on our blessings and memories. It's amazing how much life can change in 6 months time. I knew turning 30 was a huge milestone, but a baby on the way really made it a huge life transition. We are totally thrilled and overjoyed, don't get me wrong... However it has reminded me that God TRULY has a plan for our lives, and he's definitely in control at all times. "You want to see God laugh, tell him your plans" has become my favorite quote. I believe He knows what is best for us, and He has our lives mapped out from the day we are born. I can't imagine not having little Leighton in my belly, and can't really remember what life was like before she became a part of our family. She has already made me a better person, and has made our marriage stronger and more meaningful. I am so thankful for the gift that God has given us, and can't wait to meet her in less than 4 short months! I also think and pray alot about our friends and family who struggle with infertility and loss/illness of a child. It is so crazy that we go so many years trying to avoid becoming pregnant, yet now days it seems like so many can't get pregnant... I cannot imagine how frustrating and painful that must be. It breaks my heart to walk alongside those who are struggling and I can't even fathom how hard it is to be in their shoes. We continue to pray that God will bless all of those who are struggling.

Quick Update!

I have been terrible about keeping up with this blog! We are at week 21, and had our full anatomy scan ultrasound last Tuesday. Everything looks great. I had alot of anxiety and fear going into the scan, but our prayers were answered and our little miracle is growing perfectly. She started kicking around 17 weeks, but it has rapidly intesified, and I can feel specific movements and body parts through my belly... it's truly amazing! She defintely already has a pattern throughout the day. She likes to kick my right side, and down below right near my bladder which is uncomfortable but sort of funny becasue I think she knows exactly what she's doing;) She starts around 8 am, subsides, starts again around lunchtime, and goes crazy after dinner around 8 pm. Jason even got to feel her... we are pretty sure we felt her head underneath my belly button:) We continue to thank God everyday for our little blessing, and pray for her to keep growing strong and healthy until she's ready to come out into this great big world!

I am heading to Key West this weekend for Brandi's wedding! I am so excited to celebrate her marriage to Dan, and spend time with my best girls. I will be sure to post pictures next week...

Spoiled? Nah, never!

So I have had to limit my shopping trips for little Leighton Grace to 1x week. Once a week (Usually Thursday or Friday), I allow myself to go into a children's store and buy something(s) for her. I thought I would be the only one (trying) to practice restraint in the shopping department. However, Jason and I were in a store last weekend buying some things for ourselves, and at one point I looked all over trying to find him. I finally found him waiting in the checkout line, 3 little pink outfits dangling from his great big hand! I almost fell over when he showed me the darling little onseies... he just smiled and said "I spent 15 mins in the baby department, aren't these cute?". I then repiled "Who are you and what have you done with my husband?" Aww, what a sucker he is already right? It was very sweet and I know he will be a wonderful papa:)

I included some photos of our slowly growing 'collection' for LG, along with the sweet things Jason picked out. She is not going to be spoiled... right?

Belly!

Here is a picture from last week at 17w4d. The belly has arrived!!

Someone said to me yesterday, "You are only 18 weeks along! Your belly is going to be huge!". Awww, don't some folks just say the nicest things?!?

Watch out world... baby GIRL Nail is on her way!

Yesterday we found out we are having a baby girl! I still can't believe it! For the past 16 weeks, I have had a very strong feeling it is a boy... Don't get me wrong, we just want a healthy, happy baby and we really weren't concerned about whether it was one or the other! I typically trust my 'gut instinct', and it definitely was incorrect this time:) I envision so many fun memories to come with our little girl... it will so much fun as her mommy to share in many 'girly activities', and I know Jason is already wrapped around her finger. He keeps staring at the pictures of her and saying how sweet she is, it's adorable!

To determine the sex early, we (along with our parents) went to an off site 3D imaging center to see a clearer, color view of our little one. It was fascinating and enlightening... I included a 'posing' picture of our precious one. It's so much fun to imagine what she will look like! Only 23 weeks to go:)

The Newest Nail!

Jason and I are excited to announce a new addition to our family... and no, this time it isn't furry or four legged! Yep, we are expecting and were just as surprised as everyone else when we figured it out! We truly could not be more excited about our 'surprise', and our 'Spring Chicken' is due March 29, 2010. I have been feeling great other than some random morning sickness at 4am. Yes, 4am like clockwork. That was mainly around weeks 6-9 so thankfully we are out of that phase. I am posting a picture of our 12 week ultrasound. Everyone has asked if we are finding out the sex... Yes. With my Type A planner personality, I would go cerifiably insane not knowing! Jason and I decided to go to a 3D offsite Ultrasound facility in mid October to sneak an early peek;) Stay tuned as we continue to post updates on our blessed, amazing, ever changing life!
