Cagle's Dairy Farm

I had a fun opportunity to go with the local MOPS group to Cagle's Dary Farm in Canton. It was such a cool experience, and one of the most fun Leighton and I have had together. We got to pick veggies from a real garden, pet real live baby animals, watch how cows get milked (reminded me of myself when nursing...ahhhh! Wanted to rescue the poor animal), go on a hayride, and see a demo of sheepdogs herding in sheep! So much fun, and can't wait to go back again :) These are the things I wish I could do with her more frequently, and make me want to just quit my job and say "let's have fun everyday!!" Haha :)

She kept getting dangerously close to the edge of the hayride! Lil' daredevil!

Not sure what she was doing, but looks like "I'm #1!" Yep, definitely an Airies :)

Right before she got pecked! Ahhh!

Morning Monk :)

These are some candids I snuck of LG in our bed the other morning... She loves to snuggle with mommy and play with daddy in our bed :) So much fun!

Sweet kiss for dada...

Atlanta Children's Museum!

Meme came in town a few weeks ago, and the highlight of our weekend was the ImagineIt Atlanta Children's Museum! I was concerned Leighton was a bit young, but it is actually perfect for children ages 1-4. To our delight, she had a total blast! The featured exhibit was Timbuktu, and as you can tell she loved the music, drums, and dancing during the show:) What an awesome indoor activity to enjoy during this awful heat!! So fun!! Our lil' Monkey:)

Four Fabulous Years!!

Jason and I celebrated 4 years of marriage on May 5! It has been a great 4 years, filled with alot of love, lessons, laughter, and learning. We have grown so much individually, but also as a couple. Leighton has been such a wonderful gift, teaching us to express the deepest form of love possible. She has brought us closer, and created an even stronger bond between us.

We tossed around several trip ideas, but finally decided on Savannah. It was our first time to leave Leighton with someone else overnight. (We've both traveled away for overnights separately, but she was always with either Jason or myself). So we felt more comfortable being within driving distance, and only spending a few days away. We loved Savannah, and stayed at an amazing B&B called Zeigler House Inn. It is one of the oldest homes in Savannah, and has been kept nearly immaculate over the years. As you can see in the picture below, we were surprised with champagne and fruit in our gorgeous room, and had a great time socializing with the other guests during wine and cheese hour each evening. We toured a historic home, as well as The Cathedral of St John The Baptist. It was strikingly beautiful, and we could feel the history come alive as we entered the chapel. We had a great time, but were ready to get home to Munchie! Here's to 44 more years!!

"Love seems the swiftest but it is the slowest of all growths. No man or woman really knows what perfect love is until they have been married a quarter of a century." ~Mark Twain

Easter 2011

I have decided that Easter is now officially my favorite holiday! I am sure partly because it is right around the time of Leighton's birthday, plus the fact that I love spring... but also because it is a time of renewing, restoring, and remembering! This year for Easter weekend, we attended Good Friday service at Buckhead, Easter Sunday service at Buckhead, and spent the afternoon at Aunt Sue and Uncle Joe's. We had a great time, and Leighton enjoyed playing with her cousins, Emma, Sarah, and McKenzie. As you can see, she took part in her first official Easter Egg Hunt :) She didn't really 'get it', but was quite curious nontheless!

Does this picture make me look demanding?!? More baked beans mom!

MMMMMMMMMMMMM!

Messy Monk!

Angie and I were trying to get the cousins to 'pose', and LG was less than cooperative! She then proceeded to nap for an hour in her carset :)

Big girl walking EVERYWHERE now!

Absolutely zero clue what was going on, but had fun anyway!

Cousin Emma showing Leighton the candy in the eggs

McKenzie got it!
